If the game could be real

I often find my self day dreaming here and there about how much better the world would be if it was like a video game. Not with extra lives or cheats cause that would be silly, but the other aspects. The environment in many games is so amazing that it would have a drastic effect on how the human race treats the world they live in. Not to mention the trees might fight back.
I wonder what people would like the world to be like if it was like a video game. I know for me I would have a blast if the world was a zombie survival game. As dangerous as that environment it is also just as simple and that is the attractiveness of it. Sure friends and family would be lost along with a large portion of the population but the day to day would be so simple in someways it would be relaxing. Perhaps this is a piece of my crazy coming out but wouldn't it be easier if half the population was trying to eat you?

If you have a game you would like the world to be like leave a comment.

New and Fast? Old and Slow!

So as many of my friends and family know I am an avid gamer. I play everything from FPS to RTS to MMO to FLASH and what ever might be in between. I prefer PC to console for many reasons that I will get into at a later date. Recently most of my games have seemed bland and stale, even though they are fast paced and active the in someway have bored me. I have on many occasions missed playing World of Warcraft, I hate that game with a passion at this point but I missed the interaction with others.

This has lead me to try many other games to try and fill in that hole left in my gaming. I have tried Star wars  Rift, GuildWars2 and several others of which none seemed to satisfy me. It has taken me awhile to figure out what it is about MMO's I enjoy so much. What I have found is I do not enjoy the competition of the game (end game) nor do I enjoy the crafting or farming. It is the interaction with others and the teamwork that I enjoy and crave. This has lead to myself and 4 other friends to return to Final Fantasy XI, a slow paced, none flashy MMO with a simplistic but rewarding play style.

It would seem that what I have been craving this whole time can be satisfied with an old low graphics low feature game where I have to work with others to progress. New is not always better, shiny is just the surface, if the game play isn't right then its all for nothing. So I guess what I am finally understanding is no matter what if you have a hobby that is popular do not get caught up in the new and the shiny just because it's what people are doing, enjoy what you enjoy.

Me in a nutshell

I am a married father of 2 who is going to ITT for my associates in software development. I am an avid gamer who is striving to be better at several games and will even be streaming them after Feb 15.

I have a son and a daughter 5 and 14 months, my son is to smart for his own good at times and my daughter is to cute for my own good. Lucas my son gets upset when he gets in trouble like all children... however the reason is completely different then most. He gets upset at me for being diligent and catching him, not that he got caught or that he was in the wrong, he gets angry that I pay attention. My daughter has the key to my heart, I would move heaven and earth for her. I am in so much trouble when she gets old enough to realize the power she has.

My wife is wonderful, she puts up with a lot from the family. Thankfully she has finally found a hobby that lets her detox from all of us. She also blogs and is the reason I have started in the first place. You can find her blog at www.blusteringdeductions.com check her out to see me and my family through the eyes of a Doctor loving witch.

I'll get into my gaming at a later occasion, just know that I game, I like it, I am good and I want to compete.
